The first robotics competition at Walt Disney World will be held Saturday, July 18, when robots compete for a chance to compete in the Disney Dance Competition.
The competition will be hosted by Disney’s Walt Disney Imagineering and will be a partnership between Disney Imagineers and the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
Disney Imagineer Robyn Young will lead the robotics competition.
This year’s event will feature four robots, with each competing in a different aspect of the show.
The theme of the competition is “Robots for a Cause,” and will include a live show, with choreography and dance performances by the four robots.
“Disney is excited to have Robyn and Walt Disney on board to help us bring this amazing new innovation to life in our parks,” said Walt Disney DreamWorks Animation President David Sloane in a statement.
“We are thrilled to see Disney Dreamworks partnering with Robyn to bring the competition to life and see the world’s first robots compete in our park.”
We’re thrilled to be able to create a world of robots for a cause that will make a difference in the lives of kids, their families and our planet,” added Slooeane.
Robot competition at DisneyWorld is a way for fans to meet their favorite Disney characters and to experience the magic of the Walt Studios.
